The 8th grade ELA Honors class is doing an Investigative Journalism Unit is producing a newspaper. Their goal is to have four issues. The students chose their article topics and pictures. Student editors are responsible for the layout of the newspaper, grammar, and following journalist ethics. Students will be rotating through the different jobs for each issue.

Introducing our new teachers
Jessica Whiteman My name is Jessica Whiteman. I have lived in Hardin all my life. I graduated from Hardin High School. I graduated from University of Montana- Western where I received my Bachelors of Science- Elementary Education. I have three children: ages 23, 12, and 8. My great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and now I have all been teachers in Big Horn County. I guess you can say it runs in the family. I am so excited to be teaching at the Hardin Middle School and ready for a great year. |
Neal Peaton I am married with 3 children and 2 grandchildren and another one on its way. I went to high school in Laurel and have a college degree in Business Management through University of Phoenix. I worked for 4 years in Laurel Middle School and Yellowstone Academy as a Para. This is my first year here and my first year as a teacher. Before that I served in the Army as an Infantryman for 20 years, from which I am now retired. |
Maria Cristina Tomimbang My name is Maria Cristina Tomimbang. I earned my bachelor's degree at Philippine Normal University, the center for education in my country. I've been teaching mathematics for 21 years now. This is my second time teaching in Hardin district. I find the community very supportive and appreciative to the work I do for the kids. I am always privileged to be part of their journey in learning. |

Students can voluntarily stay after school to receive extra help and time to complete assignments with certified teachers.
Snacks are provided.
Bus transportation to the Crow Agency school is provided at 5:15 p.m.
