HCAC UPDATE!!
Our main pool has been experiencing some major mechanical issues. We have been working with a company to address these issues. We have repaired the first set of issues and have currently refilled our pool. The second issue could not be evaluated or repaired until we filled the pool and ran the circulation system. As of yesterday, our pump in the main pool needs to be torn apart and repaired. As long as the repair does not consist of ordering a new pump or parts our new target date to reopen the main pool is on Monday July 29th (being that there are no setbacks). We understand there are a lot of questions and frustrations to this matter. Memberships will have additional time added as well as our summer student passes. For lessons, we will continue with the 29th as scheduled. If we can not get the pool going by then we will adjust and notify all of those in lessons. Preschool lessons will continue on the 29th even without a main pool. We apologize for the inconvenience and really do value each and every one of our customers and members and want to thank you all for being patient as we continue to work on our main pool. It will be repaired and operating again, just taking longer than expected.

Guardians of the Living Water Summer Program
Summer 2024 marks the 10th annual Guardians of the Living Water Summer camp for Apsáalooke 5th and 6th graders held at Crow school every June. The Guardians of the Living Water program was established through a partnership of the Crow Environmental Health Steering Committee, Crow Agency Public School, Little Big Horn College, and Montana State University. The goal of the program is to reinforce the importance of water in community health and well-being. The program teaches students how to monitor and care for local water sources, and is focused on a group science project where students make and test hypotheses comparing the water quality of different water sources. Each student brings in water samples to test for E. coli, and they also test for E. coli in the Little Big Horn River, the Big Horn River and in Pryor Creek. They learn how to conduct stream assessments, and at each site they record and analyze their observations to determine each stream’s water quality. They also learn from local knowledge holders about Apsáalooke science and ways of knowing that emphasize the importance of water. If you would like to see the students’ posters and learn more about the Crow Water Quality Project and current research findings, please join us at the Community Open House, Tuesday June 25th at 11am, in the LBHC Cultural Building in Crow Agency. Lunch will be provided.

Virtual Board Committee Work Session - Property and Liability Insurance Options - 9:00 AM Monday June 24th

To All Customers and Members of the HCAC:
Starting on MONDAY JUNE 24th our main pool will be closed to the public to repair a damaged line located in our main drain. This closure is not a planned closure and is required in order for us to prevent further damage to the pool. We hope the project itself does not take long, however it takes around a week to completely dump the pool and around week to have the pool filled, heated, and balanced. We hope to have our main pool available to the public the 2nd week of July (date will be announced after we know the extent of the repair and depending on the time it takes to get the pool ready). If the project takes longer than expected we will make announcements. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please see the image regarding hours of operation during this time.

What an amazing weekend! Took 35 hard working football dudes to camp. Huge shout-out and thank you to our sponsors that helped make this a reality for our program: The Crow Tribe, Northern Engineering and Consulting, Pepsi and Lammers Trading Post. Thank you for your support!
