In 1997, the Montana Legislature designated the last Friday of September to honor the state’s American Indians. By 1999, House Bill 528 officially established American Indian Heritage Day.
To celebrate, we are excited to invite you to our 3rd Annual Powwow!
Date: Friday, September 26, 2025
Grand Entry: 9:30 AM
Location: Hardin High School IMER Football Field
Everyone of all ages is welcome to dance, celebrate, and honor this important day together!
Additional Info:
Stadium seating is open to the public
If you plan to sit on the field please bring your own chair and shade
Water provided for students on the field
Community Feed will follow the powwow

Please join One Health, Hardin Schools and the Big Horn County Youth Empowerment Supporters (YES) as we welcome Laura Stack from Johnny's Ambassadors as she shares her son Johnny's story regarding modern THC products and adolescent brain development. Laura will present September 15th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Middle School Auditorium. She will also be presenting to Middle and High School students that week.

Our Hardin District Princesses made us proud as they paraded at Crow Fair this past weekend! Tilton Old Bull announced our royalty, sharing about our district and the Hardin Portrait of a Graduate. We were also honored to have Miss Crow Nation and her dancers join our float, adding to the celebration! Our 2024–2025 District Princesses: KRC– Mahalz Plenty Hoops; HPS – Mylah Ten Bear; HIS – Darian Holds The Enemy; CAPS – Elenna Carlson; HMS – Brylei Old Bull; HHS – Francisca Funke; BHA – Phenocia Old Horn all did an amazing job! We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the families who helped make this possible, and to Jane Holds and Verleen Holds for generously providing the truck, flatbed, and decorations for our royalty.
REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF HARDIN SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS:
Students cannot attend school until all the registration/re-registration process has been completed. Returning students cannot come to school until re-registration takes place at individual schools. If you are new to the district, you need to complete the process at the District Office. Students who attended last year and were dropped for attendance reasons need to re-enroll at the District Office. If you have questions, please call or stop by your student's school.
