Ft. Smith School learned about the history of Star Quilts and discussed how to honor MMIW through art. You’ll see the red star in the middle of all the quilts to honor MMIW. The students picked their design and shared it with each other.
Scott Flat Lip, Hardin High School Physical Education/ Health Teacher recently completed a 250 mile race. Cocodona250 is an intense endurance event spanning 250 miles through the scenic yet challenging landscapes of Arizona. Beginning in Black Canyon City and finishing in Flagstaff, participants navigate rugged trails, steep climbs, and diverse terrain, including deserts, canyons, and mountainous regions. A grueling race that has a total gain of 40,154ft and 34,958ft of loss. During the day temps were close to 90 degrees and at night got as cold as 30 degrees on some parts of the course. With a course designed to test both physical and mental fortitude, runners push their limits over several days, facing unpredictable weather conditions and elevation changes, making it a true test of endurance and perseverance in the world of ultrarunning. Way to go Mr. Flat Lip.
Signups for free sports physicals will be 5/17 and 5/24 at the new Academy building.
