The Crow Agency Dance Troupe and Hardin District Indian Club danced at Montana State University Billings Powwow this weekend and it was a breathtaking sight. Superintendent Tobin Novasio and his wife Tandi made an appearance supporting our Native community. We also have our very own high school student Sheridan Wagner singing proudly with the Night Hawk Jrz Drum Group and our district royalty leading the Grand Entry. A huge thanks to Verleen Holds who brought her Dance Troupe with a school bus. Thank you to the chaperones: Jonna Chavez, Nyla Bullinsight Blaine and Christina Turnsplenty for making sure our students were safe during the trip. A’ho

Kasey Nicholson, a certified wellness educator, well-known comedian and motivational speaker of Fort Belknap Indian Reservation visited the Hardin Intermediate School yesterday. His presentation included topics on cultural-identity, self-esteem, self-empowerment, educational endeavors, spiritual awareness, cultural understanding and many more. He connected with our students on so many levels when he spoke with humor and laughter. But he also spoke with seriousness so students understood the importance of his topics. The students enjoyed listening to the flute and the story behind why he started playing the flute. Throughout the presentation students and teachers were engaged and shared some good laughs. A’ho Kasey. Special thanks to the Hardin Intermediate Indian Education for All committee – Jennifer Schaff and Jenna Janssen along with Principal Sandra Francis for hosting Kasey Nicholson to Present. A’ho

Today Ft. Smith School had Indian Education for All stations in their classrooms. Despite the snowy weather the presenters traveled to Ft. Smith, Montana to share their expertise on Crow Stories told in Crow Language and translated in English, Native plants and special uses and the history of the Crow Flag. Presenters included Harry Rock Above, Cedar Bulltail, Alda Good Luck and Jana Alden who made her delicious frybread. Lead Teacher Staci Redding made a tasty berry pudding to go along with the frybread. Thank you Principal Taylor Sidwell and the staff for hosting our Apsaalooke elders to come in and share their knowledge with the youth. A'ho
